Machine Learning Engineer

The Company

Connatix, the most advanced video platform for publishers, powers the video content and advertising businesses of the largest media companies in the world, including CBS, Time Inc and Tribune Media. We are headquartered in New York City, with offices in Tel Aviv, Israel, UK, and Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The Team

• You will work in an innovative team that develops advanced AI technology for ad targeting and content enhancement, a one-of-a-kind product in the market
• You will be responsible with solving hard problems in text and media analysis by applying machine learning algorithms

The Position

• You will work on DeepContextual, Connatix’s contextual ad-targeting engine
• You will get involved in all steps of the Machine Learning process: data collection and processing, analysis, prototyping, modelling, deployment and monitoring
• You will apply NLP/ML algorithms to various classification, extraction and ranking problems
• You will work closely with live production systems and product teams and deliver efficient and scalable machine-learning solutions (hundreds of requests per second)
• You will build smart and efficient ways to automate machine learning workflows, including labelling, training, testing and visualisation
• You will generate and test working hypotheses, conduct production A/B testing

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in research or development of machine learning systems
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS, Engineering, Math or AI
  
• Experience with NLP tasks, solutions and relevant software (Spacy, StanfordNLP, Flair, etc.)
• Experience with ML/DL frameworks (Tensorflow/PyTorch/Jax, XGBoost, Transformers, etc.)
• Experience working with high-performance scalable systems
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) at both business and technical levels
• Familiarity with production-level Python and software engineering best practices
  
• Problem-solving and time management abilities
• Ability to conduct complex research and motivate technical and research decisions

• Appreciation for code quality (standards, documentation, etc.)
• Experience with largets-scale distributed systems
• Experience with Microservice architectures and message queues (RabbitMQ)
• Experience with ML on image/video data (classification, object detection, etc.)
• Experience with monitoring/telemetry systems
• Familiarity with C#/.NET
• Familiarity with working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
• Familiarity with DevOps best practices (version control, Docker, CI/CD) and MLOps
• Good understanding and hands-on experience with AWS (S3, Sagemaker)
• Relevant academic research in ML/NLP
