PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The Marketing Data Analyst will provide data analysis to the Commercial team to help drive performance, KPI results, and informing future strategic decisions.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Support the Commercial Analytics Manager in KPI development and work with Finance to track a consistent set of measures.
  • Enrich Commercial data through effective communication of KPIs using SQL and Power BI to retrieve and share insight
  • Initiate, analyse and present reviews of customer behaviour and commercial opportunity across digital and transactional touchpoints
  • Provision of weekly, monthly reports and development of senior management dashboards. Provide context and commentary to help the business understand performance
  • Work to automate reporting capability through effective use of SQL and Power BI
  • Support on the analysis of internal and external data sources (e.g. 3rd party research) and dissemination of this across the business
  • Work with the Commercial Team to support on setting campaign and overall objectives (customer and financial) ensuring we can measure success at an individual campaign and overall objective level
  • Partner with Data teams in setting requirements for data assets that are required for you to fulfil your role
  • Develop strong partnerships with the wider Commercial team to support them in their data needs, including a variety of channel owners such as CRM, SEO, PPC and Affiliates
  • Ensure that any data provisions are consistently developed and maintained and ensuring data management processes are defined and implemented in line with Data governance principles
  • Maintain the first line of Risk/Compliance defence by ensuring individual adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance
  • Make informed risk decisions and effectively and credibly debate and challenge management recommendations within your role in line with the approved Risk Management Framework
  • Maintain the first line of defence by reviewing/supporting the risks and controls assigned to the department
  • Promote change through Root Cause Analyse from Risk events completed
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Strong analytical background (ideally in a Commercial/Marketing context)
  • Good understanding of financial success measures
  • Power BI (or similar), Excel, SQL, BI tools, Google Analytics, Google Ads
  • Must be a great communicator – ability to explain your work and express complex ideas and data in a compelling way
  • Powerpoint and other visualisation tools
  • Experience of R or Python in a data analysis setting a benefit
  • An understanding of A/B testing a benefit
  • Clear communicator
