What You Will Do:This position will be responsible for architecting, configuring, implementing and maintaining complex data visualizations within a variety of Business Intelligence (BI)/visualization tools. Specific roles on this project inside AWS and Azure environments include: (i) working with data architects to create datamart and enterprise warehouse data models to support complex visualizations; (ii) configuring the metadata layer in a variety of BI tools, such as Tableau, OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, etc., to support complex visualizations; (iii) configuring the security model within the BI tool to appropriately restrict user access to visualizations; (iv) creating tabular reports and visualizations within BI tools; (v) optimizing performance issues within BI tools including caching and data cube strategies; and (vi) working with cloud data engineers to troubleshoot visualization issues that arise during the O&M phase.
What You Need:Experience building and maintaining tabular reports and visualizations. Extensive experience with Tableau building complex reports and visualizations including reports with hierarchical drill downs, crosstab reports, and a variety of visualization formats.Experience with other BI tools including at least 1 of the following: OBIEE, Cognos, Business Objects, Socrata. Experience tuning the performance of visualizations including caching and report refresh scheduling; Configuring BI tools at the metadata and security layer. Configuring the metadata layer for BI tools to ingest data from a database (or data repository) and support a variety of BI visualizations. Configuring the security model for BI tools to restrict access to users based on client requirements · Migration of visualization configurations between environments. Experience migrating a visualization configuration from a Dev environment to higher level environments (QA, Staging, Production) using BI tools.
Desired Skills:Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders to obtain requirements and demonstrate the conclusions that flow from various data visualizations. Experience as a data architect designing data models for enterprise data warehouses in AWS Redshift, datamarts or data lakes in AWS S3.
