What You Will Do:This position will be responsible for both serving as a senior technical advisor to a federal agency and building out data pipelines in AWS for an enterprise data lake. The individual will be responsible for advising senior program managers on strategies and technology for enterprise data warehouses, data pipelines, and data analytics reporting tools. The individual will be responsible for implementing data pipelines in the cloud to an existing data lake and data warehouse. Specific roles on this project inside an AWS environment include: (i) implementing data pipelines, for batch and streaming data sources, from external feeds into a cloud-based data lake and eventually into data warehouses; (ii) developing a cataloging strategy for sharing metadata information for a variety of datasets in the data lake; (iii) using AWS serverless components in the data pipeline architecture; (iiv) using IaC tools to deploy the pipelines within AWS; and (iv) advising clients on the architecture of enterprise data warehouse and data pipeline architectures.
What You Need:Your background should include at Bachelors Degree and at least 6 years of Software Development, Data Engineering and Cloud Solutions Architect experience.Experience building data pipelines using AWS components including Step functions, Lambdas, Lambda layers, EventBridge. Using AWS Glue to build, maintain and monitor ETL jobs. Using AWS Secrets Manager to manage credentials Architecting a data lake model including the use of standard technical conventions including pipelines for batch and streaming data feeds.Architecting a data cataloging strategy for a myriad of data sources pulled into a data lake and warehouse. Implementing a data catalogue on a cloud platform. Architect and manager the security roles for a data lake and pipelines.US Citizen or Green Card EAD required for Public Trust Clearance.
