Job Description

To translate the Standard Bank Group (SBG) data vision and strategy into applicable data strategies in Standard Bank Offshore to support SBG objectives. To oversee the implementation of the data strategy by co-ordinating and facilitating data programmes to enable data driven business decisions that are consistent and effective. To enforce governance and compliance ensuring alignment to SBG framework, policies, and standards. To Provide the business leadership role that has the primary enterprise accountability for value creation by means of the organization's data and analytics assets, as well as the data and analytics ecosystem. To define, develop, and execute the data monetisation strategy by providing guidance, input and leadership across the data, analytics using AI, ML, and advanced data science methodologies. To champions data and analytics value creation and governance as a strategic discipline and builds the critical foundations of a data-driven enterprise. To intersect data and the business, partnering closely with data owners and senior leaders across SBO, whose strategy will be informed by outcomes of the data function. Contribute to SBO overall strategic goals, to achieve profitable growth, and to continuously improve the operations performance.

Qualifications

Qualification:

Post Graduate Degree in Mathematical Sciences


Experience:

5-7 years Finance Business Partnering

5-7 years Technology Business Partnering

5-7 years Data General Management

Outputs:

  • Communicate a clear vision and strategy to coordinate the data agenda across SBO, educating and negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Devise and implement an applicable data strategy for SBO aligned to SBG data strategies.
  • Execute the data operating model in SBO including the data provisioning layer (DPL) and curated data in support of the single view data domains and ensure the simplification of IT data and information architecture.
  • Drive the standardization of data management practices within SBO in line with organizational frameworks to encourage and enable a uniform and consistent view of data across the organization and support the concept of universal bank data.
  • Create and monitor a profit and loss statement for data activities within SBO and influence data investment decisions to ensure a consistent return on investments.
  • Review data capability levels of SBO and collaborate with stakeholders to develop plans to achieve desired capability state.
  • Collate regulatory data requirements SBO to identify inadequacies in the existing practices to support compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the business owner for any Data Architecture e.g., data lake and data reservoir, reviewing and approving design.
