  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Design and implement data pipelines, data storage, and data processing systems using system like Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and other relevant tools.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to troubleshoot data issues and optimise data systems.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and trends and evaluate their potential to improve existing data solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data visualisations and dashboards in Power BI or other relevant tools.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including data architecture diagrams and data flow diagrams.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Intermediate Data Engineer Consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of data architecture principles and experience with cloud-based data storage, processing, and analytics platforms. In addition, the candidate should possess excellent communication and consulting skills to work with clients and stakeholders to identify and meet their data needs.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Design and implement data pipelines, data storage, and data processing systems using system like Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and other relevant tools.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to troubleshoot data issues and optimise data systems.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and trends and evaluate their potential to improve existing data solutions.

DESIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Develop and maintain data models, data visualisations and dashboards in Power BI or other relevant tools.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including data architecture diagrams and data flow diagrams.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years of experience designing, implementing and maintaining data solutions like Azure Data Factor, Azure Databricks, PySpark or SSIS
  • Bachelor's degree or similar qualification (certification or diploma) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing principles, specifically as they relate to data storage, processing, and analytics.
  • Experience working as a consultant or in a client-facing role is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-disciplined individual that can plan workload with limited supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with data modelling, data visualisation and dashboard development using Power BI
