Job Description

Clarity Services is hiring a Data Modelling Analyst II for its growing Strategic Analytics team. The Strategic Analytics team is responsible for a wide range of analytical activities to support Clarity’s core market (Alternative Financial Services lending) that includes:

 

Research and Analysis:

  • Data wrangling – Create structured data sets by joining and manipulating data from a variety of sources for the purposes of research and analysis.
  • Data cleaning and enrichment - Review data for issues with quality, completeness, and statistical validity.  Implement measures to balance data quality, modification, and adequate inclusion to ensure statistical rigor in resulting analyses.
  • Data analytics – Complete research projects in response to requests from internal and external clients.  Conduct exploratory analysis, develop analytic plan, and complete thorough research using descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytic tools.
  • Presenting results - Create materials to present research findings in a compelling and meaningful way (PowerPoint, Tableau, R, R Markdown, etc.) and deliver presentations to relevant stakeholders.

 

Developing an Analytic Environment & Supporting Organizational Growth:

  • Support the maintenance and growth of our analytic data warehouse environment.  Includes using PySpark to create new ETL processes and migrate existing ones to support the maintenance and growth of the warehouse.   
  • Create proofs of concept to assess the potential for new products in the marketplace
  • Create models to predict credit and response outcomes (generalized linear models, XGBoost and similar non-parametric models)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science or other quantitative discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 2-5 years experience conducting analyses, building predictive models and providing insights using large datasets
  • Programming skills in R and Python
  • Mastery of SQL and relational databases
  • Adept at Tableau and visualizing data
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

 

Preferred:

 

  • Advanced Degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science or other quantitative discipline
  • Knowledge of consumer lending, risk management, credit bureau data, credit scores
  • Experience with Apache PySpark
  • Experience with cloud computing environments such as AWS RedShift, S3, EMR, and EC2
  • Experience with Hue and/or Hive Query Language
  • Experience building and deploying machine learning models
