This person will be instrumental in using statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques to ensure our business analytics team functions as a top team within Sunlighten. This Data Scientist will use and apply their knowledge of different data science techniques to assist in defining and implementing processes and tools that will enable Sunlighten to grow and continue to be successful.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Use statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques as a member of a business analytics team
- Work with, and present measurements, results, and reports to departmental teams company-wide
- Define and implement processes and tools to enable, model, and deploy data science
- Apply data science techniques including machine learning, statistical modeling, data mining, and AI using state-of-the-art methods
- Extend datasets using third-party sources
- Enhance data collection procedures to include information relevant for further developing analytics systems
- Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
- Create automated anomaly detection systems and track the performance of those systems
- Responsible for Data Warehousing and ETL tasks, as needed
- Responsible for predictive analytics and forecasting of key performance indicators for each department, while identifying opportunities that can optimize business performance and improve customer experiences
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience applying data science techniques in a business, or similar organizational context. The experience should include:
- Statistical programming and applied programming experience
- Experience with data mining, quantitative analysis, or statistical modeling including predictive performance and algorithm optimization
Location and Education Requirements:
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to the Overland Park, KS area to work from our HQ daily
- Masters in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or related field
