Data Scientist, Research & Development (Mid Level)

Salary: £42,000k - £65,000k per annum, DOE, plus generous options

About the role:

We are looking for a Mid Data Scientist with 2+ years of experience to join our fast-growing R&D team.

As a company, we harmonise anonymised consumer transaction data and create products for investment and corporate clients. We are rapidly growing with a truly innovative solution that our clients use to understand the performance of listed companies and their business sectors. Our products give real-time insight on revenue shifts, market share, consumer switching and online / store sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with both the research and the commercial team to create targeted insights for prospective clients, using Fable row level and aggregated transaction data
• Assist with R&D on the next generation of products
• Refining and updating our consumer panels
• Conduct data analysis on topics of general interest across a wide range of themes and sectors
• Technical support of clients during trials and post-sales
• Support the automation of repetitive procedures.

Skills and experience

Essential

• 2+ years experience working as a Data Scientist/Data Analyst in a commercial or academic environment
• Good skills in SQL and Python. Good problem-solving skills
• Fast learner and comfortable with uncertainty and change; we are a scale-up
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• A keen interest in financial markets, data and factors that are relevant to making investment decisions.

Desirable

• Experience with developing production code along with an understanding of source control via Git
• Experience working with consumer data, banking data and stock and shares will help
• Planning skills that will help you prioritize your work across multiple projects
• Knowledge of the retail environment in France, Germany, Spain and Italy and a major European language would be desirable, but not essential
• Familiar with basic time series analysis.
