Our goal is to enable people to answer the question: What if you could invest in the people who impact and change your world? We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist to support the StarX platform by building, cleaning, and analyzing datasets for use in predictive machine learning models.

Description:

As a Junior Data Scientist, you will work on tools and solutions for the collection of  data from disparate sources, transformation, filtering & storage of data based on business needs. You will apply your experience in data analysis & visualization to extract relevant features, perform statistical analysis and build prediction models for the business and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, or other quantitative fields or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience developing models for production scale with a high preference for NBA, NHL, MLB or college basketball
  • Knowledge in Probability Theory, Machine Learning, Inferential Statistics, Bayesian Statistics, Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience developing and delivering effective machine learning and/or statistical models to serve business needs
  • Experience with relational SQL & Python
  • Experience with source control tools such as GitHub and related CI/CD processes

Qualifications

  • Reliable communication skills are a must
  • Existing knowledge of the sports technology industry
  • Strict attention to detail and pride in producing error-free work

Responsibilities

  • Increase your understanding and knowledge of the global sports technology landscape by leading important research projects
  • Get an inside look at the latest technological innovations in the sports world
  • Work closely with StarX team to complete research and data management projects

Salary Range - $120,000-$190,000 DOE
