Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence in Israel is a unique place that researches and implements cutting edge technologies for manufacturing, automotive, robotics, and industrial applications. We are looking for Computer Vision Researcher, a Deep Learning expert to research deep learning for new sensors, specifically, IR and / or gated imaging techniques.

Job Description

There is vast knowledge today in RGB, radar, and LiDAR imaging for automotive. In this position you will research, make impact on real products, write papers, and develop new deep learning techniques related to new perception sensors (e.g., gated imaging sensors).

  • Create something new: As a leading research scientist, you define a research agenda for new sensors, specifically, infra-red sensors, but not limited to. You will:
    • Conduct excellent research on real-world application
    • The results should be according to a business unit specification and requirements
    • The results of the research will be published at the leading AI / CV venues
    • The results will be transferred for implementation in Bosch products
  • Integrated implementation: You will take responsibility for providing strategic and technical competence in Computer Vision. High proficiency in Python, Deep Learning frameworks, and CV methods in general.
    • You will support in image data pre-processing and enrichment of image data with meta information
    • You will devise, train, try, test new architectures tailored to the new sensors.
    • Integrate in a-priori knowledge into the architecture as needed in order to achieve high performance
    • Be aware in design how this sensor is integrated with other existing sensors such as radar, visual, Lidar, sonic, etc.
  • Israeli eco-system of new sensors for automotive (10%): part of your time will be spent on the Israeli eco system where you will map and examine existing technologies in the local eco-system.

 

Qualifications

Technical skills

  • Has a PhD or an MsC in CS/EE/IE/ME or related faculties
  • Pursued a thesis in Computer Vision
  • Background in signal processing or related physical field (Big Plus)
  • Experience in training and validation of deep neural networks
    • Ideally in PyTorch, alternatively in Keras
  • Ideally experience with:
    • object detection
    • image classification
    • semantic segmentation
  • Experience in Machine Learning in general (Big Plus)
  • Affinity towards new hardware technology (Big Plus)
  • Self-confident and responsible team player with excellent communication skills
  • Initiative, highly motivated and motivating character for the team and partners
  • Solid publication list

Personal skills

  • Motivation and ability to define personal research roadmap
  • Ability to collaborate with an international interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Humility and willingness to learn
