Job Description

Are you looking to be part of a growing company with a strong culture? We seek a Data Science and ML practitioner to join our Data & AI team at ISAAC Instruments and help take things to the next level. We collect terabytes of telemetry data from our IOT devices. We want to build classification, regression, and recommendation models to identify patterns, and analyze longstanding historical data ; this in order to make recommendations to drivers and support them regarding road safety and fuel savings. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the development and deployment of innovative concepts. You will also analyze historical data and do extensive research on predictive modeling and machine learning algorithms.  

Responsibilities

  • Research, build and deploy machine learning and deep learning algorithms
  • Create scalable machine learning models - classification & regression (GBMs, RF, LR, etc.), forecasting, clustering, neural networks (CNNs, LSTMs etc.) that integrate into batch, streaming and real-time systems
  • Effectively partner with product and data specialist teams to ideate and build new data-driven and machine learning based features for enriching the experience of ISAAC clients 
  • Drive A/B & multivariate tests and design experiments to facilitate testing of hypothesis and design features, with focus on utilizing ISAAC telemetry and operational data
  • Generate descriptive visualizations and presentations to communicate insights and results
  • Developing statistical AI models on telemetry data collected from our IOT devices 
  • Develop data cleaning, data transformation, data processing pipelines 
  • Collaborate with the data analyst who has domain knowledge related to trucking and telemetry data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Statistics (a Master’s degree in AI would be considered an asset) 
  • 1-2 years' experience in designing AI applications using Python, with a strong grasp of machine learning algorithms, statistical models, software engineering standard methodologies such as code reusability 
  • Proficient in Python, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Pandas, Pyspark and other languages and frameworks appropriate for ML modeling and deployment
  • Proficiency in Azure Machine Learning tools and Databricks is a plus 
  • Proficiency in Deep Learning (Computer Vision) is a plus
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL) and large-scale distributed systems
  • Comfortable with experiment design and A/B and multivariate tests
  • Exposure to Docker and Containerization
  • Knowledgeable of core CS concepts such as: structured and unstructured data, data management and querying, common data structures and algorithms 
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Fresh graduates with Data Science & AI related internships are welcome to apply
