What is the project about?

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Engineer to join our high-performing Agile Database platform team. The ideal candidate should be a strong team player with a passion for delivering high-quality database services to our clients.

As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Exadata hardware, patching of Exadata, Linux, networking components, and hardware maintenance. You should have a strong background in Oracle Database technologies, including Exadata, RAC, Dataguard installations, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring Exadata hardware.
  • Patching Exadata, Linux, networking components, etc.
  • Performing hardware maintenance tasks, such as replacing disks.
  • Working with Oracle Database technologies, including Exadata, RAC and Dataguard installations, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
  • Managing Linux RHEL environments.
  • Creating and maintaining scripts using Python, Bash, etc.
  • Utilizing Azure Devops, CD/CI tools, and pipelines.
  • Managing Virtualization/Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Using Configuration Management tools like Ansible, Puppet, etc.
  • Working in an Agile/Scrum methodology environment.
  • Collaborating with teams cross-countries to ensure project success.

The customer is an international financial organisation with their headquarters in Amsterdam. They have other office locations in Amersfoort, Utrecht and abroad. The office in Amsterdam offers job opportunities to nearly 10.000 people from over 50 different nationalities. They are most known for delivering mortgages and loans.

This client is a multinational player in the FMCG industry, operating around the world. Headquarters in the Netherlands.

Requirements

  • Installation and configuration of Exadata hardware (Patching of Exadata, Linux, networking components etc Hardware maintanance i.e. replacing disks etc )
  • 5+ years of Experience with Oracle Database technologies including but not limited to; (Exadata, RAC and Dataguard installations, Oracle Enterprise Manager)
  • Linux RHEL experience
  • Scripting experience with e.g Python, Bash
  • Well versed in Azure Devops, CD/CI tools and pipelines.
  • Exposure of Virtualization / Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management tools like Ansible, Puppet.
  • Familiar with Agile / Scrum methodology.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Technology
  • Expert in a DBaaS environment
  • Experience with working in high performing Agile Database platform teams
  • Good understanding of English
