Job Description

As Privia Health continues to grow, there is an increased need to more efficiently manage new payer data as well as analyze data quality from legacy relationships. Under the supervision of team management, a Payer Data Analyst will aid or lead in the acquisition, management, analysis, and interpretation of the data Privia receives from various payer sources. These sources include, but are not limited to: membership/eligibility, attribution, medical claims, pharmacy claims, and VBC or quality gap data feeds. A Payer Data Analyst will transform data into accurate, consistent and timely information that can be readily communicated to all relevant stakeholders. They will be a part of a team striving to ensure and improve data quality, data governance, and payer data management across the enterprise.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Aid in the acquisition and monitoring of all relevant payer data. Contribute to the  resolution of data issues as they arise.
  • Research and suggest solutions for optimizing data quality and governance issues related to payer data - as used in both internal data warehouse processes as well as vendor partner integration.
  • Identify and perform root-cause analysis of data irregularities across the spectrum of the data pipeline and present findings and proposed solutions to relevant parties.
  • Assist in the design, testing, implementation, and monitoring of process enhancements and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Maintain and improve existing data pipelines and develop new ones as needed.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to implement analytic data quality methods into scalable and automated products.
  • Support all data implementations into vendor partner’s Population Health platform.
  • Serve as a SME relating to all data specific questions for relevant payer data files. Be able to efficiently write SQL queries as requested for ad hoc insight when answers are unknown. 
  • Communicate data needs and define specifications for data management team's support for standardizing data components to support scalable, automated and productized impact reports.
  • For new value base contracts and health plans, participate and help lead in the negotiations for data alongside the Payer Relations team by outlining data needs and specifications to ensure payer accountability.
  • Partner with internal product and engineering teams to execute data cleansing strategies to aid the use of payer data to support Privia Health’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • 4+ years job experience in a Healthcare Data, Analytics, or related field.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative skills, with emphasis on effectively communicating complex data to a varied audience using methods to ensure comprehension.
  • Proven ability to analytically problem solve in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Working knowledge to proficient in SQL/query languages.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects while showing strong organizational skills that will allow for management of payer data across multiple markets and lines of business.
  • Execute work with exceptional attention to detail on all project tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and within a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly, think independently, and develop new processes/analyses.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks with little supervision, work under time pressure, and excel with time management skills. 

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Previous experience working with large datasets. Preferably healthcare claims and/or EHR databases and their content.
  • Programming/development experience with MS SQL Server, Snowflake, or similar data warehousing applications.
  • Programming experience with Python and pandas packages.
  • Data warehousing and/or IT project experience.
  • Experience with value-based contract operations within a provider group, payer, CMS, vendors, or consulting firms.
