We're now looking for an experienced and motivated Data Scientist to join our Data team – the backbone of our Data-driven operations – and architect our internal Data infrastructure. You'll partner with company leadership to implement and measure the impact of strategic projects and inform how our engineers build the next generation of Data platforms. Our ideal candidate maintains a deep systems background and will use that competence to guide the team towards well-engineered and durable solutions.

What will you be doing?

  • Researching, designing, and implementing statistical, machine learning and optimization solutions to tackle a diverse set of business challenges, spanning from recommendation systems to predictive analytics;
  • Performing in-depth analysis of data to uncover trends, discover and test hypotheses;
  • Delivering rapid prototypes and proof of concepts that demonstrate real value;
  • Creating and delivering progress reports, slide decks, proposals, and documentation;
  • Communicating results, technical constraints, and decisions to the business and non-specialists.

What are we looking for?

  • A BS or higher in computer science or a related field;
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Science;
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in at least one of the following areas: Machine Learning, Recommender Systems, A/B testing;
  • Understanding of Machine Learning algorithms such as Linear Regression, Decision Trees, Neural Networks, Collaborative Filtering, etc.;
  • Practical experience with high-level programming language like Python and DS frameworks;
  • Proficiency in database query languages such as SQL;
  • Understanding of the ETL process;
  • Knowledge of Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, and Numerical methods;
  • Understanding of software development process, Agile approach, and CI/CD;
  • Experience in working with ambiguity, critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities both independently and collaboratively;
  • Upper-Intermediate English (B2) or higher.

What skills will come in handy?

  • Experience building large-scale recommender engines;
  • Understanding of predictive analytics (supervised learning, time-series analysis and forecasting, survival analysis, etc.);
  • Applied statistics skills, such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, etc.;
  • Experience building microservices and containerized applications (Docker, k8s);
  • Experience working with large datasets, preferably in a Snowflake, Redshift or Spark environment (MLlib/ML);
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Ggplot2, Plotly, Matplotlib;
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau and QuickSight.
