We are looking for Data Engineering professionals to drive our analytical revolution in the Talent Acquisition (TA) space. You get the opportunity to work on a ground up rebuild of our analytical capabilities, from data ingress, to complex business transformations to end user reporting and beyond. In this role, you will invent and build on behalf of candidates, experiment and test new ideas, evangelize successes, and drive consistency.

The Sr. Data Scientist will work closely with other data scientists, architects and data engineers to design and run experiments, research new algorithms, and find new ways to optimize AWS TA workforce planning. The Applied Scientist will partner with technology and product leaders to solve business and technology problems using scientific approaches to build new services that surprise and delight our customers. An Applied Scientist at Amazon applies scientific principles to support significant invention, develops software code and are deeply involved in bringing their algorithms to production. They also work on cross-disciplinary efforts with other scientists within Amazon.

The key strategic objectives for this role include:
- Understanding drivers, impacts, and key influences on workforce staffing
- Optimizing workforce productivity to improve efficiency and costs
- Drive actions at scale to mitigate risks and seize opportunities
- Helping to build production systems that take inputs from multiple models and make decisions in real time.
- Automating feedback loops for algorithms in production.
- Utilizing Amazon systems and tools to effectively work with terabytes of data.

Basic Qualifications

· Master level technical degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related field.
· 5+ years of experience in ML, OR, econometrics or statistics.
· Strong track record of high quality and high impact technical publications.
· Proven written and verbal communication skills to convey complicated processes and systems to
· Experience with AWS technologies stack including Redshift, RDS, S3, EMR or similar solutions build around Hive/ Spark etc.
· Fluent in SQL
· Fluent with at least one programming language: Java, C++, or other

Preferred Qualifications

· 7+ years of relevant experience, including:
· Extensive knowledge and practical experience in statistics, machine learning, deep learning, or econometrics.
· Demonstrated ability to implement different techniques in predictive analytics, forecasting, and measurement.
· Experience with experimental design.
· Expertise in analyzing both experimental and observational data sets.
· Experience with tools and technologies enabling self-sufficiency in data analysis and modeling such as R, python, Hive, Pig, SQL, or other scripting languages.
· Ability to deal with ambiguity and juggle competing priorities.
· Doctorate level technical degree
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
