As a Data Engineer, you will help our clients create scalable, repeatable, and secure data solutions, by providing strong technical and domain expertise whilst displaying an appetite for systematic problem-solving.

You will have the opportunity to work across several data disciplines, not limited to Cloud, Data Science, Data Management, Data Analytics & Visualisation, and Business Intelligence.

We don’t expect you to have exhaustive wide-ranging knowledge as we invest in our employees, supporting them to grow into highly skilled engineers across multiple platforms & languages. As a minimum, we need the following:

  • Knowledge of Python
  • Project experience delivering Cloud data solutions in AWS, GCP, Azure or Snowflake
  • Writing SQL including stored procedures in T-SQL, PL-SQL, or PostgreSQL
  • Delivery experience using data disciplines and techniques such as Governance, Architecture, Data Modelling, ETL / ELT, Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, Master Data, and BI

Additionally, any of the following would be great:

  • Experience in programming/scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, R, Scala
  • Experience advising on cloud data service suitability and the associated commercial implications
  • Project experience delivering, designing, and deploying Cloud Computing SAAS such as Redshift, BigQuery, DataBricks and MongoDB
  • Good Knowledge of Big Data technologies including Spark, Hive, or HDFS
  • Experience in Real-time Data Streaming such as Confluent, Pega, or Kafka
  • Experience with standards such as JSON, XML, YAML, Avro, Parquet
  • Knowledge of the engineering delivery cycle including DevOps, CI/CD, Source Code Management, APIs, Kubernetes, Containers, Microservices and Data Pipelines
  • Project experience using proven project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Testing), frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience implementing optimal and reliable data models and data structures
  • Exposure to robotics and automation software such as Blue Prism, Pega and UI Path
  • Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as PowerBI, Thoughtspot, Tableau and Qlik Sense
  • Knowledge of Data Integration tools such as Informatica, Oracle, Talend, SSIS, StreamSets, DataStage or Ab Initio
  • Domain-specific knowledge within Retail Banking, Insurance and Regulatory would be advantageous


Working Patterns:

  • Eligible to work in the UK without restrictions
  • Although remote working is prevalent, there is potential to work on client site
  • Prepared to travel for work purposes
