Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Job Description

Design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks for a financial services company. Model, design, and construct large relational databases or data warehouses. Design, create, and manage business use of large datasets. Design templates for frameworks and technologies to develop robust and scalable individual data pipelines to support a high growth start up environment. Utilize data tools including Airflow, Lambdas, Kafka, Spark, Presto, MapReduce, and AWS Glue. Lead others in setting up configuration-as-code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Chef. Optimize and simplify the existing tech stack from Airflow running on ECS cluster to Managed Airflow (MWAA). Use cloud analytics platforms including Google Big Query, AWS Redshift, Snowflake and standard relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, or other transactional databases. Design and develop an automated migration framework for Salesforce data and objects using Airflow and Heroku. Develop batch systems and real time streaming platforms. Work through complex queries using SQL. Use Python and Java skills with UNIX shell scripting. Perform continuous integration, testing, and deployment using tools such as Git and Jenkins. Coach and mentor other team members as appropriate. Telecommuting/remote work permitted.

Education Requirement: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related.

Experience Requirement: 1 year of experience in data engineering, data architecture or related

Alternate Requirements: In lieu of a master's degree plus one year of experience, will accept a bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in the same fields.

Special Skills: Must have work experience with each of the following: (1) Design and develop an automated migration framework for Salesforce data and objects using Airflow and Heroku; (2) Optimize and simplify the existing tech stack from Airflow running on ECS cluster to Managed Airflow (MWAA); and (3) Design templates for frameworks and technologies to develop robust and scalable individual data pipelines to support a high growth start up environment.

 

The base salary range represents the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered within the range will depend on numerous factors including the individual’s skills, experience, performance, and the location where work is performed. In addition to base salary, this position qualifies for an annual bonus subject to the terms outlined in the company's bonus plan. Full-time employees hired into this position are eligible for health care benefits shown here. Base Salary Range$141,000—$165,000 USD
