Dentons – the world's largest law firm – needs your skill set to support its data-driven global Clients and Markets strategy which advocates for the proper attention to quality data resulting in reliable and efficient metrics to inform decision-making and to support the Dentons brand, client development and the client experience. Join our team to become a “go-to” expert for the Firm responsible for assuring quality and trust in its clients and markets data.

This important role will support the global Clients and Markets team and other key stakeholder groups such as the global Client Financial Analytics & Reporting team to define global client groups and client attributes and to maintain the quality of the data used in global client, practice and sector reporting dashboards.

The successful applicant will also support the global Directories and Awards Manager to maintain global recognition data, tailored intranet pages and presentation dashboards to enable “just in time” reporting on our rankings and awards across different geographies, areas of law and sectors and to benchmark the Firm’s performance against its competitors.

Requirements

  • Data and process · Use and evolve process and procedure along with external data sources to define global client groups and client attributes such as client sector mapping · Market research to define client mapping exceptions according to established principles · Monitor and maintain the quality of the data against standards and a data governance model · Engage with global and regional stakeholders to reconcile data issues in underlying systems · Maintain the evolution of the data against external data sources · Maintain established access controls to monitor adherence to standard procedures · Optimize workflows and share best practices · Ensure compliance and security of the data · Gather information about rankings and awards won and update our online databases · Support the regular update of dashboards, associated data cleaning and bug fixing, as required · Maintain and update rankings and awards pages on the global intranet · Maintain online forms used for data gathering · Update presentations (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel) with recent rankings and awards data, summaries and relevant graphics showing progress made · Provide information and analytical support regarding Dentons' performance in awards and rankings · Maintain rankings and awards calendar (data and dashboard)
  • Systems · Problem solve and work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to proactively address any systems and reporting issues as they arise · Contribute to discussions on current and future systems upgrades and the design and development of automated workflows · Support user acceptability testing of new or improved functionality and review and input into major system release cycles
  • Reporting and compliance · Support reporting and measurement activity· Respond to ad-hoc data and reporting requirements within an agreed business service level· Action set reports throughout the year, aligned to key business programs and deadlines, in order to meet the needs of the business· Maintain confidentiality of data and departmental security at all times· Ensure compliance to all policies, procedures, standard operating procedures and safe working practices

About you

Essential qualifications / experience

  • Business international level English – both written and oral
  • Microsoft Office tools expertise, and intermediate level Excel, in particular, including:
  • Enterprise wide database experience, observing access and security protocols and assisting in the effective maintenance of master data
  • Experience cleaning and transforming data using Excel and other tools
  • A passion for providing data driven insight
  • Enthusiastic about adding rigors and precision to processes, detail oriented, solution focused
  • Genuine, transparent, methodical approach with strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, defining and adhering to procedure
  • A team player who is engaged, approachable and accessible, provides reliable and responsive service, meets deadlines
  • Solutions orientated with strong problem-solving and analytical skills; can identify and explain a problem and suggest practical solutions
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting demands, to respond to ad hoc requests alongside critical or time-bound deliverables
  • Self-motivated and resilient in a dynamic work environment with the ability to work proactively without daily supervision
  • Data analytics/data visualization tools experience (Power BI, Tableau) is an asset
  • Professional services firm experience is an asset
  • Filtering and sorting
  • Pivot tables and pivot charts
  • Functions, including: vlookup, concatenate, trim, if
  • Working with *.csv files
  • Removing blanks and de-duplicating records
  • Embedding pictures within spreadsheet
