At Verisk EES (Extreme Event Solutions), we do some cool advanced analytic stuff!  We build stochastic models to simulate Catastrophic Events that will inform the insurance industry.  Events include Hurricanes, Earthquakes, and Flooding, just to name a few.  We then run Monte Carlo simulations to provide hundreds of thousands of years of simulated events. These help the insurance industry make objective and data driven decisions based on their risk tolerances.  As a company, we have a strong sense of purpose and know we are helping resilient communities world wide..

Job Description

This role is focused on our SaaS Solutions, doing Quality Assurance on the implementation of our cloud products.

• You will partner with the C# developers, identify areas for testing to ensure the entire product has coverage with testing strategies. 
• You will code in C# to develop unit & integration tests that you have optimized to run in an AWS environment, using a minimal footprint, while being organized and properly documenting your test cases.
• You will be involved authoring API based tests to the core system, calling specific functionality to run your integration tests, while automatically determining the pass/fail of the tests.  All of your testing will need to be implemented in our automated framework.
• You will be constantly manipulating and transforming data with SQL and Excel to analyze the complex outputs while summarizing the findings to present and support making informed decisions.
• You will use your quantitative data analytics mindset to deliver on your day-to-day tasks, as you need to understand complex multi-model scenarios, ensure your tests are robust, while you participate in cross-functional Agile Scrum teams.
• A strong analytical focus and attention to detail along with a methodical approach to problem solving is strong foundation for success in this position.
• Position requires a strong commitment quality assurance that leverages the best practices already place and help to enhance them.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have Undergraduate/Graduate in STEM related areas, including data science, engineering, science, mathematics & finance / economics. A graduate degree and/or 2-4 years of experience is preferable.
• Candidates must have demonstrated experience in objected programming languages such as C++, C# or Java, Python as well as data analysis and statistical modeling tools Like R or MATLAB
• Candidates must have experience with development or testing cloud native products, web development, web testing and / or cloud testing environments (Serverless SaaS stack). Strong prior experience with AWS Eco system and technology stack is preferable.
• Candidates must have an aptitude for quantitative problem solving or advanced analytics. Candidates will ideally have QA testing experience using BDD (Cucumber & SpecFlow), API (Postman), E2E (Playwright-Selenium).
• Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong aptitude with relational databases and good working knowledge with on-prem or cloud based advanced database systems.
