How you will make an impact:

As a Staff ML Engineer at Iterable, you'll be leading projects to launch new machine learning products and improve the predictive features in our core platform. 

We serve a very diverse roster of companies of all sizes, spanning many different industries. This offers a rare opportunity to work with rich datasets that are growing very rapidly in scale and variety. You will be building end-to-end  Machine Learning systems, and have autonomy to design and build the systems and models that power our ML products. You’ll also get to influence the decisions and policies we adopt as a company in this exciting era of AI.

How you will make a difference:

• Design end-to-end machine learning systems including data acquisition, data cleaning, data models, model training, model serving and evaluation
• Own Spark pipelines that are at the core of our ML platform in Databricks
• Own the feature store that manages all the features behind our ML models
• Work closely with the Iterable engineering team to improve our machine learning infrastructure and data quality
• Build, evaluate and integrate new models that add intelligence into our core product  
• Improve our model performance tracking system
• Work with platform engineers to enhance our model serving architecture
• Evolve our online learning framework
• Build the Iterable AI brand with a track record of talks, blog posts, open source contributions and research articles
• Collaborate with leadership, senior teammates and product managers to create product and technical roadmaps for features and products as part of Iterable AI

We are looking for people who have:

• Several years of experience with building end-to-end machine learning systems and operating them in production
• Advanced understanding of statistics,  modern and classic machine learning techniques and demonstrated expertise with employing a variety to create successful commercial applications
• Deep understanding of big data platforms and expertise with Spark or similar frameworks
• Strong proficiency writing production-quality code in Python
• Experience with high-scale, real-time data platforms and distributed systems
• Desire to learn Scala

Bonus Points

• Scala (or other functional) programming experience
• Experience building and supporting complex ML systems like  deep learning pipelines
• AWS experience
• Experience in a SaaS environment
• Exposure to marketing technology

We’re rethinking traditional workplace planning and looking to strengthen belonging, innovation, productivity, and happiness whether it’s in an office, from home, or a hybrid of the two. As such, we've moved to a single geographical compensation band for all of our employees (the San Francisco Bay Area market for the US, London for the UK). 

The annual base salary range for this position is $191,100 - $248,850. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and internal equity considerations. While we use our full salary ranges, we only consider offering a salary near the top of the range in situations where the candidate far exceeds the experience level and skills required for the role.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only. The total compensation package includes variable pay (where applicable), equity, plus a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and financial. In addition we offer perks such as generous stipends for health & fitness and learning & development, among others.
