PaidRight exists to restore trust between employers and employees when it comes to pay. We envision a world where employee payment compliance is a given and payroll data drives business optimisation. We are a small, well funded company that services some of the biggest names in the country and are currently looking for cloud data engineers to join our exciting team, providing technical expertise to help us grow. We need experienced people who can add immediate value to our data pipelines, allowing us to support more customers at a faster cadence.


What you’ll do:

  • Build scalable, reliable, and maintainable data pipelines and data quality checks
  • Identify opportunities for automation and optimisation of existing data pipelines
  • Cleanse, model, and analyse various forms of payroll data
  • Engage directly with customers to understand appropriate transformations for modelling source data of varying formats into various output schemas
  • Consult with customers to develop reference datasets for capturing customer-specific interpretation of their data
  • Continuously innovate to improve our systems and processes so that we can better serve our customers

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years combined experience in data-related areas such as data analytics, data warehousing, and data engineering
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Personal or professional experience working with the following GCP services or their AWS/Azure equivalents; BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Collaborative by nature and able to work within a cross-functional team


Nice to have:

  • Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven data processing
  • Experience with software engineering practices such as version control and unit testing
  • Experience developing data visualisations using tools such as Tableau and Looker
  • Experience with automation tools such as Cloud Composer and Airflow
  • Experience with building data quality tasks through Dataplex or otherwise
