Junior Data Engineer / Reporting Specialist

The Team

The Data Services team of the BI Team is in charge of designing, implementing and maintaining a set of tools (APIs and services) which collect data (from data sources or event brokers), aggregate & distribute it both internally (services & apps) & externally (data direct to the customer, corporate website/backoffice/mobile app, 3rd party apps, country authorities across Europe etc.)

The Role

Following Viva Wallet's European expansion, the Regulatory Reporting obligations of the company have grown and the need of modern, scalable, secure back-end applications who communicate with the Central Banks of each country is higher than ever.

The candidate will join forces with the Data Services team and design, test, implement, present and automate a series of Regulatory reports.
Using SQL Querying Language and tools, the team extracts and transforms data, present it in PowerBI and form output reportable files

Responsibilities:

• Extract data from a variety of Data Stores using, mainly, SQL syntax querying languages
• Create, update, optimize data visualizations in PowerBI
• Perform tasks in an efficient & timely manner
• Follow modern frameworks than promote agile development and quick paths from development to production
• Participate with product development team to plan new features
• Continually advance technical knowledge and skills

Requirements

To be considered you should have:

• Previous experience using SQL databases
• Fluency in SQL querying language
• Excellent analytical and good problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude.
• The ability to perform in a team environment and share knowledge.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical degree.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.

The following will be considered a plus:

• Previous experience in PowerBI visualizations (or similar tool)
• Design, develop and maintain new and existing data and ETL pipelines
• Knowledge of any NoSQL database system.
• Microsoft Certified Professional Certification of any level.
• Experience in Cloud Computing & Cloud services (Azure, AWS), ML Patterns and Algorithms.
