The Sales, Services and Marketing Technologies Analytics Team support Visa's Business users in Sales, Services, Marketing and Product Teams in providing access to data and insights from multiple applications.    

This position is ideal for an experienced software engineer who is passionate about solving challenging business problems and building Data applications that provide an excellent user experience. You will be one of the leaders of the Analytics team supporting Sales, Services and Marketing development team focusing on design and build of software solutions that leverage data to solve business problems. You will be involved in designing brand-new software solutions, and at other times you may be refactoring existing functionality for performance and maintainability, but always working on ways to make us more efficient and provide better solutions to our customers. The role is for a self-motivated individual with expert software engineering skills and extensive user interface design and development experience. The candidate will be extensively involved in leading hands-on software engineering activities including POCs, architecture, design, documentation, development and test of new functionality. Candidate must be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on team’s needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture a team of data and engineers by motivating, mentoring, and assisting in hiring critical talent

• Collaborate with project team members (Product Managers, Architects, Developers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure development and implementation of new data driven business solutions

• Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards.  Responsibilities span all phases of solution development

• Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved

• Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner

• Ability to concurrently lead projects from multiple programs under Sales, Services and Marketing

• Guide developers in day-to-day design and coding tasks, stepping into code if needed

• Get an understanding of application data (MS Dynamics, Appian BPM, Automation Anywhere RPA) and custom applications, gain functional understanding and work on conceptual design of data pipelines and Dashboards/reports

• Assist in scoping and designing analytic data assets

• Lead the development of robust data engineering process and data pipelines to develop and implement self-serve data and tools for Visa’s data consumers and users in batch or near real time

• Lead the development of Product analytics and metrics from Business Process management, Robotic process automation and CRM applications

• Lead development of microservices and APIs

• Lead code review, responsible for development frameworks and development best practices

• Build capabilities for DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring and logging of applications, deriving metrics from applications

• Be the escalation point for development and production issues in Bangalore

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications
• 6 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

Preferred Qualifications
• 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• 2+ years of experience in leading development teams
• Proven knowledge of successful design, architecture and development using Big Data Hadoop, Python, J2EE and Spark with large data volumes and transaction systems
• Possesses a deep understanding of benefits/drawbacks of different integration patterns
Experience in building ETL pipelines, utilizing big data engineering techniques or using ETL tools to build Analytical solutions to solve business problems
• Strong SQL and Data analysis expertise and understanding of Relational data bases required
• Extensive experience with MS SQL server, ETL tools like SSIS, Pentaho, Informatica is required
• Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, Microstrategy or other BI tools nice to have
• Extensive experience with SQL and big data technologies (Hadoop, Python , Java, Spark, Hive, Presto, Kafka etc.) tools, Open source software for large scale data processing, data transformation and building machine learning pipelines nice to have
• Experience with working with applications logs to develop product metrics and KPIs
• Experience with building microservices/APIs
• Working experience with container technologies.
• Presentation skills and good communication skills presenting insights to Business is highly desired.
• Previous exposure to financial services, credit cards or merchant analytics is a plus, but not required
• Demonstrated analytical rigor, strong attention to detail, team oriented, energetic and collaborative
• Ability to solve complex software development/design issues
• Ability to write clean, coherent code following established coding guidelines
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and effective communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise way
• Experience developing as part of Agile/Scrum team is preferred
• Passionate about delivering zero defect code that meet or exceed the proposed defect SLA and have high sense of accountability for quality and timeliness of deliverables
• Ability to deliver on multiple projects and manage priorities based on changing directions
• Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented
• Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity
