Senior Data Engineer

HUMAN was founded in 2012 in a Brooklyn sci-fi bookstore by Tamer Hassan, Michael Tiffany, Dan Kaminsky, and Ash Kalb. We are looking for a passionate Sr. Data Engineer with expertise in cloud technologies, big data, and distributed systems to join our data engineering team. In this role, you are responsible for end-to-end development of the data pipeline and data models, working with major data flow that includes structured and unstructured data. Your focus will be on developing and integrating systems that retrieve and analyze data.
Our Technologies stack: Golang, Airflow, BigQuery, Snowflake, GCP, Docker, Kafka, MongoDB, Redis, and more.

What you'll do:

• Working in a high volume production environment.
• Lead design and implementation of streaming data pipelines and batch data pipelines.
• Work across diverse teams in Product Management, Software, DevOps, MLOps to ensure that the data infrastructure is capable of meeting solution requirements.

Who you are:

• 6+ years of professional software development experience and/or 4+ years developing data applications in one of the following languages: Golang, Scala, Java, Python.
• Deep knowledge of building, scaling and managing a large scale data pipeline within the cloud (GCP preferred) from the ground up.
• Well versed in large scale messaging tools like Kafka (must).
• Experience working with cloud-based modern data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent professional Software Engineering experience.
