About This Opportunity:
A Data Scientist is expected to lead the design and implementation of a variety of robust and efficient data mining and analysis pipelines, using best-in-class programming languages, data manipulation frameworks and tools, drawing from multiple heterogeneous and large-scale data sources, either semi-structured or unstructured. From those pipelines, the Senior Data Scientist will build Machine Learning models that draw insights and predictions for a wide spectrum of applications and will be in charge of leading the transition of those models to production.

Responabilities:

• Work and collaborate in a multi-functional team, composed of the AI product owner,  data scientists, backend software engineers, an MLOps, a  data engineer, a Cloud Engineer, a Scrum master, and a QA specialist.
• Advise the AI Product Owner on best-in-class techniques and technologies for the problem at hand
• Lead the creation of data mining and analysis procedures and pipelines from multiple loosely associated data sources, including large-scale live sources. 
• Contribute to hypothesis formulation, and lead hypothesis testing on the mined data
• Build predictive models using a variety of Machine Learning techniques including regression models, time series, clustering and classification models, etc.
• Build a variety of neural models, leveraging best-in-class Deep Learning techniques and frameworks, such as Transformers.
• Build Natural Language Processing models and applications.
• Work on a range of different recommender systems use cases.
• Conceive and implement methods for the continuous monitoring and improvement of Machine Learning models delivered in production.

Requirements:

• Strong analytical skills
• Strong statistics, data mining and machine learning foundations
• At least 5 years of experience in data mining, data analysis, and Machine Learning, working on large-scale projects and heterogeneous data sets.
• Strong programming  skills within the Python ecosystem
• Considerable experience with major Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Deep Learning frameworks, such as scikit-learn, nltk, Tensorflow, Pytorch.
• Experience with tools for the management of experiments and their visualization such as MLFlow, Tensorboard, and DVC
• Strong teamwork attitude
• Solid software engineering expertise
• Fluency in English
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Physics or similar. PhD a substantial plus.

Preferred requirements:

• Knowledge of service-oriented computing, specifically the REST paradigm, and microservices
• Hands-on experience with commercial cloud platforms, such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud
• Experience with big data  platforms, such as Spark, Databricks or equivalent
• Attitude to work and deliver within the context of agile development methodologies
