General Description:

The Sr. Data Analyst, Installed Base Sales, manages the data behind SonicWall’s channel led renewals and installed base sales programs. This role will ensure that throughout a customer’s lifecycle, SonicWall engages all partners and all customers with options to renew, expand or upgrade. Deep analysis and formation of key insights will be important, as this role reviews all KPIs and datasets to ensure data blind spots do not develop in the installed base. In addition to installed base renewals analytics, this role will also partner with sales leadership to identify target rich prospect data for ad-hoc sales plays from within SonicWall’s installed base. As a key member of the Installed Base Sales Team, the Sr. Data Analyst will collaborate with Entitlement Engineers, Finance, Sales Operations, and Sales Leadership to build insights on different views of Total Addressable Opportunity (TAO), Quote Coverage, Renewal Rate, Churn, net dollar retention, renewal loss reason trends, and more. The Sr. Data Analyst must be comfortable wearing many different hats: renewals subject matter expert (SME), product SKU and entitlement SME, reporting and analytics SME, TAO forecasting SME, project manager, business partner, and trusted advisor to senior sales leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain globally consistent and persona-based renewals reporting for the Sales organization, leveraging tools like Gainsight, PowerBI, QlikView and Salesforce
• Build ad hoc reports on TAO, Quotes, Upgrades, Renewals for Sales Leadership and provide thoughtful and detailed analysis and recommendations on how to interpret and action on the data
• Monitor datasets weekly to identify gaps in Activations, TAO, and Quotes - Spot inconsistencies in the data and reconcile promptly with internal stakeholders
• Partner with Entitlement Engineers and Data Analysts on other teams to connect to source data critical for renewals reporting
• Manage a view of SonicWALL’s Product lifecycle, ensuring the proper sunsetting of end-of-life TAO
• Document data and metrics definitions for key terms related to renewals
• Create and maintain documentation on all processes and dashboards
• Present findings to Sales Leadership and Sales Operations
• Work to drive change globally and partner with members of Product Management, Entitlement Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Sales Operations to ensure global consistency and adoption of reporting

Requirements:

• 8-12 years of relevant experience in Analytics, BI, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, or Business Operations
• To be able to tell a story using data and act as an advocate for data driven decision making
• To be a self-starter, able to navigate in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
• A passion for cybersecurity, selling through channels, and improving Sales effectiveness
• A passion for uncovering business insights through data analysis
• Advanced understanding of data tools such as SQL, QlikView (BI), Power BI, LogiXML and other platforms
• Experience in modeling and programming languages such as Java, Visual Basic, .Net and SFDC.
• History of use of the processes required to analyze very large data sets to forecast future trends and business requirements.
• To be highly motivated, detail-oriented, a strong team contributor; able to work independently and cross-functionally
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Experience with Sales and renewals motions; knowledgeable about key metrics and processes. Experience reporting MRR and ARR metrics
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite tools
• Advanced proficiency in Salesforce reporting (able to run reports, build dashboards)

Preferences:

• Ability to travel up to 5-15% of the time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components.
• Ability to sit at workstation for long periods of time completing analysis, testing, documentation, or other assignments.
• Positive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills and able to work across company departments.

• Bachelor's (Required) or equivalent experience
