Job Description

The Senior Data Operation Engineer will be responsible for passionately leading the Analytics Data Engineering and Data Operations team in support of our rapidly expanding investment analytics business. This position will guide the team with responsibility to deliver and maintain accurate, complete, and timely data sets. This position reports to the Sr. Vice President, Investment Analytics.

What you’ll do:

  • Passionately lead a small team of highly impactful Data Engineering and Data Operation Associates and Analysts
  • Support and ensure seamless data delivery, maintain databases with high attention to detail, and thoughtfully implement operational practices for our investment risk, Quantitative Research, and Analytics platform
  • Support the creative efforts of design, and actively maintain database systems for our investment risk, Quantitative Research, and Analytics platform
  • Effectively collaborate with IT and the data management team with respect to our data requirements and system design

Qualifications

  • ­­­­­Undergraduate degree (preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent)
  • Postgraduate degree in finance, Financial Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years of experience creatively designing, developing, troubleshooting, and tuning databases
  • 5+ years of excellent experience with and understanding of programming in SQL
  • 5+ years of financial service experience preferred
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team
  • Excellent experience with and understanding of C, C#, Java, C++ and Python preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent ability to work in a highly collaborative atmosphere within the team as well as cross functionally
  • Excellent ability to cultivate a communal environment under which your team can thrive
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Highly dependable with an excellent level of professionalism 

Additional Information

  • This position will work on a hybrid model out of our Santa Monica office

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000/year. However, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis considering various factors, including location, qualifications, skills, and experience. The total compensation package includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and a full range of health and financial benefits, which will be provided in conjunction with an offer of employment.
