Who You Are:

You are a multi-faceted data engineer, capable of doing everything from building dashboards to ETL processes.  You enjoy the responsibility and ownership of collecting, scoping, implementing and extracting learning from various and disparate data sources, including Zendesk and spreadsheets.  You are excited about meaningful work and solving hard problems, owning projects from end-to-end, analyzing trends, identifying field failures, and building automation to proactively alert the support team of any spikes in failures or anticipated behaviors.  As part of the hardware engineering team, you will have a big impact on how our customers can, and should, interact with our product offerings.  

** Please note that this is a temporary, part-time position.  Expected hours are 20 per week, for 6 months. **

What Excites You:

  • Quantitative Analysis: you have experience extracting, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets using SQL and understand basic statistics; experience with advanced visualization tools is a plus (Tableau)
  • Automation: you will develop analytical frameworks through Linux automation to proactively monitor data reporting solutions
  • Dashboard and Reporting: you will develop and maintain complex Tableau dashboards, aggregating data from multiple data sources
  • Data Support: You will write SQL queries and build tables in Google Big Query for other team members to analyze

What Gets Our Attention:

  • Your strong applied analytics skills - you love data, gleaning insights from data, and making decisions based on data
  • Your expert level SQL and Databricks skills
  • Your mastery of Linux command line/bash programming
  • Your strong experience with R, Python (Pandas) and other programming languages and APIs (REST)
  • Your automation skill set (AWS, Lambda, Linux, Selenium etc.)
  • A year of prior experience working as a data scientist or data engineer is an added bonus
  • A Bachelor’s Degree focused on Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics or Statistics, or your completion of a data boot camp; a Master’s degree is a strong plus

  • Hourly Rate Range: $48 - $60 / hour. Offered salary will be based on the offered candidate’s demonstrated attributes and competencies related to the role.  This range represents the range for candidates located in the state of CA.
