Customer Experience & Sales (CX & Sales) is a newly established global cross-functional and customer-centric function within the H&M Brand focusing on delivering outstanding customer experience. CX & Sales has a key role in enabling us to reach our brand direction, to become the leading destination for style, creativity and culture. As part of the Consumer & Customer Research team, you will be right at the center of this shift towards a truly customer-centric organization.  

Retail and space planning and analytics exist to enable data-driven insights on how to capitalize on space in our stores to drive comparable growth net selling. This is where you come in! As a Data Scientist within Retail Space Planning & Analytics you will be the key enabler to explore and develop new robust methods to get new and more accurate insights on consumer demand and space in stores. This is a temporary assignment during parental leave, and an opportunity for you to take your skills to a new level! 

Job Description

 As a Data scientist you will perform analysis on large sets of data to extract impactful insight. This will inform and guide Retail Space Planning / Analytics and Store Experience & Commercial to drive strategic decisions across the H&M functions as well as H&R leap related to Store portfolio profiling, assortment visibility and assortment activation. Your work will contribute to scale up on data-driven insights enabled by statistical and mathematical methods. You will work with multiple advanced analytics tools to analyze, execute and follow-up initiatives from start to finish. Your stakeholder will be on a cross-functional level, and an important part of the role will be interacting and influencing the analytical community within H&M to explore and enable new data areas to acknowledge more business potential. 

Qualifications

We believe you have experience from working in a data scientist role in a cross-functional setting, as well as at least 2-3 years experience in data science, data analysis or machine learning engineering within retail, or equivalent. In addition to this we believe you have the following: 

  • A university degree in a relevant field; (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Science, Engineering) 

  • Possess the technical competence to perform advanced analytics, including data modelling and coding skills (R, Python and SQL required, additional languages meriting) and analytics tools experience  

  • Capability of tackling very loosely defined problems and working autonomously  

  • Have a business and customer-oriented mindset with the motivation to constantly improve, achieve targets and drive agenda forward 

  • Like taking responsibility and enjoy working in a changing environment 

  • Are curious, prestige-less and always strive to find the best way forward 

  • Strong communicative skills and fluent/skilled in English, both written and spoken

This is a temporary assignment to cover a 12 month long parental leave. You will be based in Stockholm in our newly renovated office in downtown Stockholm. You will report to Retail Space Planning & Analytics Manager, Store Experience & Commercial, CX&S . Fluency in English is mandatory, Swedish is not.
