Position:  Data Infrastructure Engineer II

Location: San Francisco, CA

Responsibilities: Work with Engineering organization to ensure that the platform powering BigCommerce remains reliable, performant, and secure. Ensure systems and scripts are clean, well-documented, and comprehensible. Run, lead and scale large-scale web operations and systems administration. Support production data infrastructure on AWS and GCP cloud consisting of Apache Kafka, Apache HBase, Apache Airflow, Filebeat, Kafka Streams, Terraform, Puppet, Redshift, and Snowflake. Multitask concurrent problems, including issue triage and prioritization. Drive issues to completion, marshaling resources in fast-paced situations. Execute performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning and demand forecasting. Monitor system stats and application logs to identify and prevent potential issues. Respond to production incidents across triaging, troubleshooting and remediation. Apply expertise in systems administration and networking to improve operating procedures.

 

Educ./experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, plus five (5) years’ post baccalaureate experience as Testing Analyst, Programmer Analyst, or related role. Experience must include CI/CD, Rio, Dockers, SimCloud, SCCM, OSSEC, TestNG, Cucumber BDD, Kafka, Java, and Terraform.

 

Salary range: $183,310 to $190,000 per year
