Wayfair Data Engineering is the engine that powers an eCommerce enterprise obsessed with data. We move fast, iterating quickly on big business problems.  Marketing analytics efforts are instrumental in further growing our market share in a $300 billion home goods market. Every day, we ingest billions of rows of data about how people pick out the perfect items for their homes, and this data is what drives our marketing strategies and website development.

Working within the Data Engineering organization, this PM will tightly partner with Marketing leaders to understand their business goals in order to design, specify and build cutting-edge data products to enable optimization of acquisition and retention marketing efforts. The PM should have a long history of successfully building and executing on engineering roadmaps, designing and launching products, and be fluent in modern data frameworks.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create a product roadmap for a cross-functional group of development teams across all platforms. You will own your roadmap, measure performance, keep your pulse on the customer, anticipate bottlenecks, make tradeoffs, and take acceptable risks to maximize the benefit for our customers and business
  • Partner with Marketing stakeholders to deeply understand their businesses and co-develop potential solutions to supercharge growth, improve marketing efficiency, and increase automation.
  • Build and lead a cross-functional team of engineers and other internal partners to envision, build, and deliver products to optimize Marketing performance
  • Lead your teams to deliver business impact by launching and iteratively optimizing products that improve our user experience in ways that lead to scalable, measurable gains in metrics that you will largely define
  • Act as a partner genuinely committed to the needs of the customer/user and the success of the business
  • Autonomously establish and maintain collaborative, trusting relationships with stakeholders who are roughly their peers and manage more senior stakeholders with the support of their manager
  • Work with leadership to improve product craft and processes throughout the extended Data Engineering team.

What You’ll Need:

  • Product management experience for data engineering or analytics teams in an Agile development environment, ideally with exposure to a relevant product area (eCommerce or B2C; Ad-tech & Marketing; site development)
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience with hypothesis-driven learning and turning data into actionable insights
  • Superior communication skills with demonstrated ability to navigate a complex organization and generate buy-in for ideas and plans
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing environments
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
