Job Description

Welcome to the Marketplace Design Domain

As the place where all real estate actors gather (sellers, buyers, agents, landlords, promoters, etc), the marketplace’s primary success factor is to provide the highest standards in terms of safety, truthfulness, relevance, efficiency and quality of the interactions between each of these actors. Many factors have an impact on the quality of the marketplace experience, the most prevalent is the users quality, seriousness, and engagement of the marketplace themselves, and the content and information (sale / rent listings, buyers projects descriptions, agencies presentations …) they produce by the means of this use.

The Marketplace Design Domain is about designing and developing all curation, penalty/reward, gamification, rating, scoring, and matching mechanisms that ensure the engagement of our users is constantly pushed up, and the quality of our content is constantly improving. As all of these capabilities are heavily data-powered, the Marketplace Design Team is also responsible for Data Governance, Modeling, Quality and the Data Platform and key Data-sets management for the whole AVIV.

Your Responsibilities

  • As a Data Model Manager, you will be empowered with full ownership and responsibility over the design and specification of the data models that will become the norm across AVIV.
  • You collaborate closely with the teams who produce the most critical data assets (properties, classifieds, leads, users, …) and design or adapt the models so that they fit the underlying concepts the data represents. You constantly seek for the best trade off between genericity and the handling of specific needs.
  • You ensure that the models fit the needs of all teams who consume the data (analytics, data science, product & tech …). You constantly seek for the best trade off between needs of producers and consumers
  • You put a specific attention to how personal data is handled and how the models support privacy by design approaches
  • You document the data models in a way that they are easily shareable and understood. You maintain the model reference databases so that automated compliance and quality checks are made possible
  • You develop and communicate the roadmap of future evolutions of the data models. You deploy a customer first approach when it comes to anticipating the impacts of changing a model onto the systems that use it
  • You manage the data model portfolio (and their different versions) in a data driven way. You set usage KPIs, get them monitored and base your decisions on those metrics
  • You strive to staying current with the Product and Business strategy and you proactively anticipate how the models can handle future opportunities
  • You act as a promoter of a normalized approach to data, from bottom (where data is actually stored) to top (the general concepts used in dashboards, presentations or day to day language)

To achieve your missions, you join our Data Modelling team, which is dedicated to the building and management of all key data models across Aviv. As Aviv has undertaken an ambitious move towards a distributed Data Mesh architecture, you and your peers will have a direct impact on the success of the organization as a whole.

Qualifications

  • You have a master’s degree in engineering or business or a related field and 5 years of experience in data management
  • A strong customer centric mindset, with a very good understanding of the intrinsic value of the information leveraged across organizations
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and with a high number of stakeholders across the whole organization
  • Strong understanding and promoter of data governance best practices, from processes to data cataloging
  • Committed to addressing privacy concerns (and especially GDPR-related policies) by design
  • Fluency with the technical and scientific concepts involved into data based services
  • English proficiency in both spoken and written
