Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our award-winning team responsible for full-lifecycle, full-stack ML platform development. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to tackle complex, real-world business problems by engineering a platform that can process and analyze massive amounts of network, security, and enterprise data.

As a senior-level full stack software engineer, you will have the opportunity to drive the development of large-scale, distributed systems to support the ML pipeline. Your responsibilities will include feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, and real-time service. And you will contribute to development and maintenance of software engineering best practices, standards, and tools while mentor and guide junior team members.

To be successful in this role, you must have a passion for building tools and automation, a strong foundation in algorithm and data structures, and in-depth industry experience in building Machine Learning platforms. You must also have experience with cloud services, ML automation platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and event messaging.

In addition, the ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, technical, and communication skills, a strong business sense, and the ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies. Desirable skills include experience with scalable system design, setting up SQL/NoSQL databases, and familiarity with machine learning frameworks, networking, and security. Familiarity with languages such as Go, Python, and Javascript is a plus.

Qualifications

• MS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering is required and PhD is preferred
• 5+ years of experience in working with large-scale ML platforms, with industrial experience such as Uber's Michelangelo or Meta's Pytorch
• Very strong foundation in computer science, such as algorithm, data structures.,  and operating system concepts, familiarity with Python and SQL
• Industry experiences in distributed system design, software engineering, writing robust interfaces,and applying sound testing practices
•  
• Industry experiences using big data processing such as Spark, BigQuery, or Apache Beam, and ML automation platforms (such as Kubeflow)
• Experience with various cloud services (such as AWS, Google, Azure),, and the underlying technology such as 
• Docker, Kubernetes, and messaging passing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc)

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Go, C++, or Javascript
• In-depth experience with setting up SQL/NoSQL database such as Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, and table schema
• Experience with machine learning or deep learning related toolset/frameworks, such as Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
• Familiarity with networking and networking security

Additional Information

The base salary range for this full-time position is $162,500 to $250,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
