Job Description
As Data Engineer you will join the Sales, Quality & Warranty team who look after UK automotive customers. You will work with the team to develop data driven solutions that manage and improve quality for Bosch automotive hardware and software products.

KEY TASKS:
- Process, cleanse, transform & verify the integrity of the incoming Quality & Warranty data sets (ETL).
- Support maintenance and extension of existing data pipelines using Google Cloud and Azures software stacks.
- Administer the UK Quality & Warranty tool chain including user admin, data refresh and issue investigation.
- Provide ad-hoc data mining services to the Bosch Quality Management organisation to support the 8D problem solving process, by extracting insights from available data sets.
- Create and automate Quality and Warranty status reports.
- Develop proof of concept (POC) data reporting and analytics tools.
- Support the Bosch centres of excellence for machine learning and analytics, to pilot new ML analytics solution for UK customers.

Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualification (eg degree in Computer Science or Data Science); or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to effectively engineer data: processing, analysis and visualisation of complex data sets.
- Knowledge and understanding of data preparation automation tools (eg KNIME, Tableau-prep, Databricks.
- Knowledge and understanding of Database SQL query development (eg Oracle, MySQl, Google BigQuery, Azure)
- Knowledge and understanding of data visualisation tools (eg Tableau, PowerBi, Excel Pivot)
- Scripting and programming skills (eg Python)
- Able to work with minimum of supervision whether working individually or when collaborating within a team.
- Good collaboration, cooperation and interpersonal skills including with colleagues located remotely, internationally and at all levels of seniority.
- Good standard of written and spoken English.
- Good IT skills, including MS office: Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to travel locally and internationally, as the required in the role, to fulfil customer requirements and develop your capability.
The following would be advantageous, but are not as important as your attitude and willingness to learn:
- An understanding of agile project management methodologies
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Visual Basic.
- Ability to problem solve in 8D, Six Sigma and lean principles.
- German Language skills
- Driving Licence

This position has been evaluated internally as up to job band 9 although we will consider applications from graduate/entry level candidates so long as you can demonstrate the technical capability required for this role. An indicative salary range for this position is approximately £28-48,000 dependent on skills and experience.
Please note that although this role is advertised as Denham location we do also offer the option of a Coventry location. We offer hybrid working under our SmartWork policy, so you can work remotely for part of the working week once you have completed your initial training.
