THE ROLE

As Indie Campers Head of Data, you will lead a talented group of Data Analysts, Scientists and Engineers, and collaborate with business stakeholders to capture and structure our data, deliver insights and drive data-driven decision making.

You will be joining and helping build our Data team in our Lisbon HQ, reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, and working very closely with the Engineering and Product team  on the development of our data structure & storage, and implementing data capabilities across all Indie Campers departments.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

• Create, Develop and Implement Indie Campers data strategy, from data extraction and storage, creation of models and algorithms, to reporting and data visualisation;
• Engage with key stakeholders to understand the business vision, requirements & priorities and help to translate data into actionable insights;
• Refine, challenge and support requests from stakeholders and create or adapt reports accordingly;
• Analyse trends in our data and provide insight and explanation to different business units;
• Help identify, define and specify future analysis and data points that arise from new features or business processes;
• Manage and coach the data team and collaborate with the Engineering and Product teams;

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative discipline (such as Statistics, Mathematics, or Physics) or in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or equivalent experience;
• You’ve cross functional experience in Data Science, Engineering, BI, and Analytics;
• Fluent in English (mandatory);
• Knowledge of developing end-to-end data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and experience of working with structured and unstructured data;
• Comfortable utilising data visualisation platforms, preferable using Tableau and/or Metabase;
• Proficient in structured analysis and query optimisation in SQL;
• Experience in task management and knowledge management tools like JIRA/Confluence/Asana;
• Demonstrable experience in turning data analytics into actionable insights and communicating these across functional teams;
• Business focused with an ability to prioritise for results.
