Job Description

About this job:

Your responsibilities will be to: 

  • Leverage internal/external experience data to advance our understanding of mortality drivers, policyholder behavior and emerging trends
  • Support the mortality analysis and impact of underwriting innovation by collaborating with the US pricing actuaries and medical underwriters to keep abreast of current industry trends
  • Collaborate with the global data analytics team to translate data into actuarial insights and actions for the US market on research projects
  • Collaborate with global IT, and Tool & Technology teams to further the internal inventory available for relevant research while complying with internal policies on data and IT requirements
  • Develop data visualizations and analysis, including formal presentations and documentation
  • Support the US pricing team by assisting with experience analysis as needed 
    Support PRE’s recognition as a thought leader through professional activities such as publications, webinars, and conferences 

Qualifications

About you:

You are a technically solid individual with strong analytical skills. You have a proven track record of promoting teamwork and accountability, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed. This role will suit a self-starter who enjoys working in an open, collaborative environment with a diverse team of financial professionals.

  • Experience in U.S. life insurance/reinsurance 
  • Understanding of predictive modelling concepts and machine-learning approaches
  • Experience in Data Analytics preferred
  • Up to date with current trends in Life spaces  
  • Strong initiative, collaboration and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills; desire of or experience with presenting at industry conferences/meetings is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular, advanced Excel.
  • Hands-on experience in R and SQL
  • Hands-on experience with actuarial systems, in particular, Moody's AXIS is preferred
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of dashboarding tools 

Additional Information

Education / Further Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Actuarial Science
