The data science team is responsible for utilizing data across the business. We produce the analytics to explain usage of Vira products, develop the data-powered features and models to support personalised care and produce novel research to drive progress in women’s health. As a Data Engineer joining this team you will report into the Head of Data Science and your core focus will be leading the design and implementation of Vira's data processing infrastructure. However, you will have the opportunity to work on projects across the Data Science and Engineering teams based on your interests and experience. We are scaling fast and whilst the below gives you a great understanding of your role and responsibilities, you can expect to get involved in more.
As a Data Engineer at Vira Health you will:
- Lead the design and implementation of Vira's data processing infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain data transformation pipelines to support downstream analytics and modeling.
- Build and manage a set of self-service analytics tools and share regular insights across Vira.
- Where self-service isn't possible, design and deliver analysis to support decision making across different business functions (e.g. marketing, operations, product).
- Support on communicating the benefits of data and analytics across Vira.
Requirements
- Has 2+ years experience in a data engineering or analytics role for a consumer facing application, ideally with experience working on a mobile application.
- Has experience of data engineering for large, complex datasets and is comfortable with the accompanying tools and languages (e.g. Python, SQL).
- Has experience setting up and maintaining multiple cloud based data processing infrastructures and pipelines in AWS.
- Has experience with software development and best practice (e.g. git / github).
- Is interested (or has experience in) deploying and maintaining machine learning models in cloud production environments.
- Is interested (or has experience in) supporting the implementation of data security and governance policies.
- Has experience (or a significant interest in) working closely with product managers and designers to translate data and analyses into new application features.
- Has experience working within a small and fast-paced team environment and, whilst previous healthcare experience would be beneficial, it is definitely not a requirement.
