Job Description

As part of the Data & AI area, we implement projects based on the practical "data science" and "artificial intelligence" applications of an unprecedented scale in Poland. Data & AI is a group of over 100 experienced BigData engineers organized into over a dozen teams with various specializations. Some of them build dedicated tools for creating and launching BigData processes or implementing ML models for the entire organization. Others work closer to the client and are responsible for the implementation of the search engine, creating recommendations, building a buyer profile or developing an experimental platform. There are also research teams in the area whose aim is to find solutions to non-trivial problems requiring the use of machine learning.

We are looking for people who:

  • Have experience in managing a technical team, able to set and implement goals
  • Have very good communication skills and like working with people
  • Have experience (at least 5 years) in the area of working with technology
  • Know good engineering practices in terms of code quality management, CICD pipeline, GitHub versioning
  • Are experienced in the field of system architecture, data processing, software development
  • Know English at the level of min. B2

In your daily work you will handle the following tasks:

  • Giving direction in the development of a product consisting of an administration and management panel (Angular + Java/Kotlin), an event processing process (Scala + Spark) and a data quality module (Python + Spark)
  • Managing a team of 6 experienced engineers who build this product from the beginning: providing professional development, technical mentoring and career management
  • Deciding on priorities for action, analyzing business value and risks
  • Responsibility for maintaining and supporting the product according to the agreed SLA and QoS
  • Leading the process of technology selection and architecture decisions together with the team
  • Active role in creating and implementing the tool at Allegro Group (six markets)
