We currently have a vacancy for a Data Scientist fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will work remotely. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Your tasks:

  • Work closely with experts and other staff in developing and maintaining technical solutions for automated surveillance data analysis and visualisation;
  • Strengthen existing surveillance data models, flows and routine outputs, optimising integration, automation and user-friendliness while complying with scientific standards and best practice;
  • Identify, assess, validate, and support data linkage with, external large databases to enhance routine surveillance;
  • Create, maintain and refine automated surveillance processes and outputs including surveillance and situational awareness dashboards in the context of early threat detection, assessment and response planning;
  • Support relevant IT projects by ensuring that data requirements are properly defined;

Requirements

  • University degree in IT at least 3 years of experience in data science OR non-university degree with at least 5 years of experience in data science;
  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience in evaluating and optimising large complex data sets and existing outputs;
  • Experience in Data quality assurance and automating data flows and output production;
  • Experience in Data linkage and Advanced R, in particular creating outputs and dashboards using Markdown;
  • Experience in Shiny and Python;
  • Experience with R version control (Git) and containerisation (Docker) would be an asset;
  • Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Plotly, Statmodels, SciPy would be an asset;
  • Excellent command of the English language.
