Job Description

Ten Mile Square is looking for a talented data engineer who is passionate about technology to join our growing team of product, technology, and software professionals. The initial assignment for this new position is to assist in developing a data engineering practice. Capable of implementing and leading initiatives with stakeholders to analyze and build prototypes, quickly understanding new domains, and provide expertise in the use of AWS data acquisition and management toolsets. The successful candidate will work with highly experienced team leads and have an opportunity to learn new technologies and share your expertise.

• Consult with the product teams to help determine functional requirements for the data platform
• Oversee the delivery of strategic data engineering initiatives such as data consolidation and cluster analysis
• Supports both long-term data lake hub initiatives as well as ad-hoc analysis and ETL activities
• Establishes and promotes use of technologies and processes that lower risk and increase efficiency
• Facilitate periodic deployments of the system
• Proactively collaborate with the Ten Mile team on development and knowledge sharing
• Represent yourself and Ten Mile Square with integrity, expertise, and value
• Maintain the confidentiality of our clients on an ongoing basis

Qualifications

• Experience building, deploying, and scaling machine learning models
• Experience designing and implementing ETL workflows
• Experience with AWS ecosystem tools (Glue, SageMaker, Redshift, Athena)
• Proficiency with one or more programming languages, with a strong preference for Python
• Proficiency at designing relational data models and non-relational repositories
• Strong written and verbal communications and presentation skills
• Proficient in Agile software development methodology, processes, and practices
• Icing on the cake, working knowledge of the following:
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
  • Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code technologies
  • Experience building and maintaining CI pipelines
  • Experience with graph databases
  • Experience with Docker
