Senior Engineering Manager, ML Platform

At Roblox, a deep understanding and measurement of users and creators' experience is critical to Roblox's rapid growth. The machine platform is enabling  our developers and creators alike the ability to go from an ML idea to production in weeks or less.

As the Engineering Manager for the ML Platform, you will lead the evolution and scaling of the ML Platform to support a variety of multi-modal AI use cases. With nearly 60 million daily users (and growing!). The ML Platform helps power almost all new features being built at Roblox. We are looking for a seasoned leader with a solid track record of leading world-class teams.

You are:

• An engineering manager with 4+ years of management experience and 10+ years of experience as an individual contributor
• Someone that likes to figure things out, and a hands-on manager who loves to get into the details
• Someone that has architected, designed, and developed a wide-array of software products.
• You’ve managed teams of 10+ individual contributors reporting to you.
• Knowledgeable with REST, API design patterns, and scalable containerized systems and microservices.
• Have built a machine learning platform before

You Will:

• Build teams in the growth organization and lead them while they deploy new services for millions of users.
• Mentor engineers and team leads to make sure your team’s expertise grows over time.
• Work closely with your product partners to define the roadmap and lead the project execution.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams, product and design  to improve the existing and develop new functionality, pipelines, and workflow.
• Be guided by the company vision to put the Roblox community first and represent the company through thought leadership
• Develop the service APIs for ML Infrastructure components--Serving Layer, Metadata Store, Model Registry, Feature Store, and Pipeline Orchestrator.
• Partner across organizations to build tooling, interfaces, and visualizations that make the ML@Roblox a delight to use.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.Annual Salary Range$331,640—$383,910 USD
