The AI/ML Platform powers all Search, Recommendations and Machine learning use cases at Roblox. The fast-growing team features multidisciplinary work in machine learning, data engineering, and traditional high throughput / low latency microservices. We are seeking a visionary engineering leader to help build the platform to power things like Similarity Search, Personalized Recommendations and enable multi-modal AI use cases. 

As a Director of Engineering for the AI/ML Platform, you will work closely with executive leadership, product, policy, and operations teams across Roblox. As we bring new immersive features to Roblox, you will be responsible for leading engineering to enable various applications of multi-modal AI across Roblox. 

You are

• A thought leader with a proven track record of highly technical delivery in high scalability environments
• Experience building, supporting, and evolving reliable and at-scale distributed systems infrastructure
• Organizational dynamics; and people; and an adept hand with shaping an organization to meet our needs
• Experience developing technology to support private and public cloud infrastructure and services
• An outstanding recruiter who builds diverse and inclusive teams
• Experienced, with 12+ years in an engineering management role, 6+ years in a Senior leadership role, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.Annual Salary Range$383,910—$440,191 USD
