About the Role:

Leveraged Commentary & Data (LCD) provides news and research on the leveraged finance markets to 80,000 plus subscribers worldwide. The Research Team is responsible for maintaining LCD’s databases, ensuring that not only is information entered in a timely fashion, but also with the utmost attention to accuracy and quality. We are a leading information provider whose success hinges upon producing a best-in-class data and research product.

As a data analyst for leveraged loans, you will oversee the various analytical processes that are the core of LCD’s research service. The data analyst is responsible for conducting the complex and sophisticated analytical projects related to client requests and tracking new trends and technicals in the market. Management of this data is a cornerstone to LCD’s unique content and maintaining our position in market.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portion of the research production process, including ensuring the process runs efficiently and accurately, working with other analysts to maintain data quality while updating the process and reporting to reflect current market conditions
  • Perform research analysis related to updating research reports, based on Access queries or Excel, building Access queries to support report updates as needed
  • Perform complex analysis of the primary and secondary market to support new analysis and commentary in the research reports
  • Track market activity and commentary to identify new trends. Create new queries and research analysis to highlight these trends in client reports
  • Run custom research for clients and senior members of the research team
  • Interact with clients and market players to provide market color, commentary and analysis
  • Provide training and guidance to junior loan analysts
  • Provide additional support to the Research Team leadership as needed
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial research or equivalent, preferably with some knowledge of the leveraged finance or debt markets
  • Successful experience handling incoming client inquires via email
  • Intellectual curiosity, analytical skills and some experience collaborating on data-driven thought leadership pieces
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with regards to the ability to accurately handle data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Access is a plus

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $61,200-$103,200
  • Target annual bonus percentage: 7.5%

 

*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.
