Job Description

  • As a Research Engineer, you will work with state-of-the-art laser beam sources in a highly motivated and open-minded team.
  • Become part of our team and develop new laser processes and technologies for future innovative products in the field of e-mobility (fuel cell, e-drive, power electronic) as well as sensor applications.
  • Based on a deep understanding of laser processes, you will develop new process strategies, laser processes, system technology as well as monitoring solutions and transfer cutting edge technologies into industrial application.
  • Additionally, you will supervise undergraduate as well as graduate students and collaborate with top institutes as well as partners in the scientific community.

Qualifications

  • Education: university degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automotive engineering, physics, preferably with a doctorate or several years of professional experience
  • Personality and Working practice: innovative, inquisitive, open-minded as well as keen to create something new, communicative, structured and proactive
  • Experience and knowledge: very good and profound knowledge of laser material processing (e.g. laser welding, micro-machining, drilling, ablation) as well as laser system technology, experience in programming for automation, data acquisition and analytics and optimization of processes, preferably with Python, background in experimental process development and industrialization of laser processes, knowledge of laser optics, beam shaping and beam modulation is preferred
  • Enthusiasm: curiosity and enthusiasm for the scientific fundamentals of laser-beam-material interaction as a basis for new innovative laser processes.
