Job Description

Future cyber-physical applications will become increasingly distributed across an integrated connectivity-compute fabric. These reliable distributed systems will be at the heart of numerous domains including automotive (e.g., connected mobility, highly automated driving), industrial, building, home and beyond.

Our competence cluster Distributed Systems creates innovative concepts, building blocks, methods & tools for reliable distributed systems and tackles the following research questions:

• How to build a QoS-aware E2E IoT Stack from device to cloud?
• What are appropriate distributed system architectures for automotive, Industry 4.0, building automation, and other domains?
• What are the right cybersecurity and privacy engineering methods and technologies for heterogeneous distributed systems?

Are you an expert in one of the following fields?

• Communication technologies
• Edge & cloud computing
• Real-time systems
• Networked control
• Cybersecurity & privacy

Qualifications

• Education: PhD or equivalent experience in relevant discipline or comparable
• Personality and Working Practice: Highly motivated, positive team player with an innovative mindset, passion for applied research, willingness to take responsibility and desire to create impact on the ground
• Experience and Knowledge: Solid academic background and practical experience in your respective area as well as good software development & implementation skills
• Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken)
