We’re looking for a Product Manager with knowledge and background in AI/ML to lead a product team heavily involved with developing the AI/ML algorithms integral to our solution. The team’s goal is to build a highly accurate solution that enhances world class user experience for our customers. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of AI/ML work and clearly articulate how to plan and guide a team through the steps necessary to build a highly effective solution when running on the Canopy hardware.


What you’ll be able to do:

In this key role with Canopy, you’ll drive innovative solutions within a new start-up retail and commercial customers. Playing a critical role on a product team, you'll be helping to focus product teams working within a cutting edge, completely new technology space. We’re looking for a highly-motivated professional who embraces Lean, Agile and design thinking practices to lead and inspire a small (but growing), cross-functional, remote team. You will collaborate directly and continuously with stakeholders, software engineers, hardware engineers, data scientists and designers, to establish and execute a clear product vision. In summary, you will:


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business partners to understand and translate their product vision into an actionable backlog for the development team
  • Fundamental understanding of AI, machine learning and deep learning
  • Good understanding of different ML branches like supervised learning, unsupervised learning, transfer learning
  • Good understanding of specialized concepts like deep learning and how it can be applied to solve computer vision tasks
  • Work closely with all other teams to make sure ML processes are understood and well-integrated
  • Provide hands-on guidance to the development team to prioritize, plan, and deliver software that meets and exceeds user requirements
  • Foster an iterative development approach that continuously measures results to inform product improvement
  • Deliver value to our customers through careful and deliberate prioritization of desired outcomes
  • Mentor and train product managers on Agile/XP methods and build skills
  • Identify success stories and share with the broader product team
  • Innovate and iterate on Agile processes with a focus on continuous improvement


Requirements

The minimum requirements we seek:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human Computer Interaction or related field

• Three or more years of software product management experience

• Demonstrable understanding of AI/ML algorithm and model creation and training

• Three or more years of experience defining product vision, strategy, and roadmaps


And it would be great if you also have:

• Proven success working with an Agile development team

• Background in software development

• Experience with Extreme Programming

• Exceptional leadership, teaching and communication skills

• Ability to collaborate well with engineers, designers, and business partners

• Experience with Lean/Agile methodology

• Experience as a designer or engineer

• Strong background creating and managing backlogs

• Expertise in leading/supporting user research

• Experience articulating and validating product hypotheses

• Ability to be collaborative while navigating complex decision making in a rapidly-changing environment
