Every day fraudsters from all over the world attempt to steal our services in many interesting and creative ways, and we build smart software systems to stop them. We process data at Amazon scale, use extensive machine learning and data modeling to identify the good from the bad.

Join our growing team of software engineers and predictive modelers that are building best-in-class tools and large-scale distributed systems to detect and prevent malicious or fraudulent usage of AWS by leveraging the latest in machine learning and web anti-fraud techniques. You must possess a combination of strong technical skills and business acumen as well as a do-what-it-takes attitude. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to succeed in this role.

You will manage the AWS Fraud the Fraud Analytics team in Seattle.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Build and develop the cross-functional Fraud Prevention team in a new location.
· Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders globally.
· Combine deep technical skills and business savvy to interface and drive change or deliver solutions to all levels internally and externally including our advertiser’s organizations (including Dir/VP/CMOs, tech and non-tech). Track record in building consensus among discordant views.
· Work and Deliver end-to-end projects independently including ability to lead teams to quickly adapt to changing priorities and generate innovative solutions in an extremely fast-paced environment.
· Be self sufficient in data analysis (such as R, Python and Matlab) and big data technologies (such as Map Reduce, Spark and Hive).
· Familiarity with various data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlickview and QuickSight.
· Developer teams to produce successful Data Science solutions that deliver significant benefit to business



Basic Qualifications


· Masters in quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent)
· At least 5 years experience with hiring and leading experienced scientists as well as a successful record of developing junior members to a successful career track
· At least 5 years experience with Project management experience for working on cross-functional projects
· At least 5 years of experience leading analytical teams and a track record of developing teams to produce successful Data Science solutions that deliver significant benefit to business





Preferred Qualifications

· Skilled with Java, C++, or other programming language, as well as with R, MATLAB, Python or similar scripting language
· Professional experience in software development (software design and development life cycle)
· Superior verbal and written communication skills, ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts.
· Ability to distill informal customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives
· Ability to manage and quantify improvement in customer experience or value for the business resulting from research outcomes
· Proven achievements of developing and managing a long-term research vision and portfolio of research initiatives, with algorithms and models that have been successfully integrated in production systems
· Ability to manage and quantify improvement in customer experience or value for the business resulting from research outcomes
· Fraud domain expertise
