We have two openings - one working with our Marketing team and one working with our Content team.
Marketing: As an Associate Data Scientist working with our marketing team, you’ll help our email, paid ads, and SEO channel managers understand the performance of their channels, evaluate the effectiveness of new tactics within their channels, and prioritize their work based on a robust understanding of the likely impact of possible projects.  You’ll work closely with other Data Scientists to learn the most important tools and technologies, develop your analytical skills, and increase your effectiveness at using data to influence and inform business teams.  At the same time, you’ll follow our curriculum of online courses and live trainings and apply the skills you learn to a series of showcase projects to demonstrate your growing Data Science skills.
Content: As an Associate Data Scientist working with our Content Strategy team, you will identify gaps in our content catalog and best practices to make upcoming content successful. You’ll help expand the breadth and quality of online education by identifying expansion areas to make our content catalog more robust and better understand the content production process. In this role, you’ll be directly involved in content research both on- and off-platform, skills mapping, and launch planning for upcoming courses, specializations, and for-credit programs. Our ideal candidate is an independent, analytically-minded individual with strong analysis skills and a record of using data to advise business teams, who also shares our passion for education.

(Marketing) Responsibilities

  • Designing and analyzing experiments to measure the impact of new marketing initiatives
  • Providing impact estimates for proposed marketing initiatives to help teams prioritize the most promising projects
  • Supporting marketing channel teams in executing data-powered strategies, e.g. through custom audiences and lifecycle emails
  • Increasing your technical and interpersonal skills as a Data Scientist by making consistent progress through a series of online and live trainings
  • Demonstrating new skills and rapid learning through showcase projects and  increasing responsibilities supporting the marketing team

(Content) Responsibilities

  • Designing and analyzing experiments to measure the impact of new  initiatives in areas of Learner Experience, Contents and Skills
  • Design, build, and share internal reporting for Data Scientists and cross-functional partners to identify content opportunities and drive product insights.
  • Providing impact estimates for proposed initiatives to help teams prioritize the most promising projects
  • Supporting cross-functional teams (e.g., Content Strategy, Skills) in executing data-powered strategies, e.g. through custom audiences and lifecycle emails
  • Increasing your technical and interpersonal skills as a Data Scientist by making consistent progress through a series of online and live trainings
  • Demonstrating new skills and rapid learning through showcase projects and  increasing responsibilities supporting the Content team

Basic Qualifications

  • Successful completion of IBM Data Science Professional Certificate
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical intuition and demonstrated interest in answering business questions using data
  • Strong time management skills and passion for learning
  • Foundational skills in at least one scripting language (e.g. Python)
  • Foundational knowledge of probability and statistics

Preferred Qualifications

  • (Marketing): Experience working with or on marketing teams
  • (Content): Experience working in fast pacing environment with multiple cross-functional teams
