Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join our Data Reporting team. 

The main purpose of the role is to increase efficiency across the business through the use of data. Therefore, strong Excel, Visual Basic, SQL and Power BI skills will be a key element of this role.  

Your Responsibilities:  

Reporting to the Finance Data Manager, the extent of your duties will include but not be limited to: 

  • Creating bespoke analytical reports for the Exec and Management teams. 
  • Analysing trading data and reporting this in a professional manner. 
  • Sourcing and maintain data required for key business processes. 
  • Ensuring the integrity of the data collected and reported by working closely with third parties and following robust business processes. 
  • Maintaining the analytical models required for reporting. 
  • Supporting business projects which require data expertise. 
  • Assist in the automation of key reports. 
  • Identifying areas for business process improvement. 
  • Maintaining business processes and policies for the Data Reporting department. 
  • Assessing and monitoring these processes to ensure their effectiveness and adjust accordingly. 
  • Setting up data sources to enable self-serve report generation for others in the business. 
  • Interacting with the Development team when further automation is required. 

Qualifications

You are a proactive self-starter with knowledge of creating and managing data structures, along with experience in creating reports with a strong focus on data visualisation using tools such as Excel, VBA, SQL and Power BI.

This position requires you to manage tight deadlines, solve problems with excellent attention to detail, and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Good communication and interpersonal skills will be needed, as you will be liaising with stakeholders up to the board level, to deliver data reports and dashboards to improve performance.  

You have experience in identifying data sources, extracting and cleansing the data, knowledge of creating and managing data structures, and experience in creating bespoke data visualisation reports through tools such as Power BI. 

Required skills and experience:  

  • Excellent English language skills, both written and oral. 
  • Proficient with data extraction techniques, data analysis tools, and scripting languages. 
  • Experience in creating and managing data structures. 
  • Experience in identifying data sources, extracting and cleansing the data,
  • Experience in creating reports with a strong focus on data visualisation. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VBA. 
  • Knowledge of Power Query and Power BI
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL
